How to Submit a Nomination for the Mount Holly Sports Hall of Fame
The Mount Holly Sports Hall of Fame seeks to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the city’s sports community. Whether through athletic excellence, coaching, leadership, or community service, the Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose legacies have positively impacted the sports culture in Mount Holly.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Athletes: Individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skill, achievement, and dedication in sports, either at the amateur or professional level.
Coaches: Those who have mentored, developed, and guided athletes to success while promoting the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and integrity.
Community Leaders/Volunteers: People who have made a lasting impact on the sports community through organizing events, supporting athletes, or contributing to the growth of sports in Mount Holly.
Teams: Outstanding sports teams that have achieved notable success and brought pride to the community.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for nomination, the individual or team must meet the following criteria:
Membership shall consist of individuals in the Mount Holly/Easton Gaston community.
Committee must recognize accomplishments or service rendered as outstanding and noteworthy.
Accomplishments are not limited to high school, collegiate or professional accolades and may include outstanding community services that support organized athletic programs.
Nomination Process
Complete the Nomination Form:

Provide Supporting Information:
Biography: Provide a brief biography of the nominee, detailing their involvement in sports, achievements, and any special contributions made to Mount Holly.
Achievements: Highlight significant accomplishments, awards, records, or milestones in their sports career or volunteer work.
Letters of Recommendation: Submit any letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the nominee’s character and impact.
Photos and Media: Include photos, newspaper articles, or other relevant media that showcase the nominee’s contributions to sports.
Submit the Nomination:

Review and Selection:
Nominations will be reviewed by the Mount Holly Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The committee will evaluate the merit of each nominee based on their impact on the sports community, achievements, and overall legacy.
Induction Ceremony:
Nominees selected for induction will be honored at the annual Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where their contributions to Mount Holly’s sports history will be celebrated. The date for the annual Mount Holly Sports Hall of Fame banquet is the third Saturday in August. Buy your tickets HERE.
Deadline for Nominations:
All nominations must be submitted by January 31 to be considered for this year’s program. Late submissions will not be considered for the current year.

Selection Guidelines
Membership selection process will be based on applications submitted and majority vote of committee members.
The committee will determine number of inductees per year; a single team will count as one inductee.
All organized sports may not be represented yearly based on the selection committee’s final vote.
Website research, newspaper articles, old programs, yearbooks, and word of mouth can be used in committee determination of potential inductees qualifications. Person making nomination should provide documentation and corroboration of background information.
